The film In the Path
One processor.
One final analog character.
Analog Alive is built for the end of your analog processing chain. It gives a static in-the-box signal the movement of analog hardware, adds density and weight where the level reaches for it, and brings those qualities together as one final analog character.

Movement
Analog exists in time.
Tiny fluctuations, component behavior and differences between left and right channels keep analog hardware from ever feeling perfectly static. Analog Alive brings that to the sound: slow, non-repeating variation in tone and stereo image, so nothing stays frozen from one moment to the next. Not a chorus. Not an LFO.
Density & Weight
Weight where the signal reaches for it.
Level-dependent behavior gives the sound materiality. Quiet passages carry only the signature. As the level rises, harmonic density builds and the loudest peaks round off, and the sound gains weight without losing its shape.
The Final Layer
Analog does not end at the last processor.
In a real analog signal path, the processing chain is not the end of the story. After the last processor, the signal passes through conversion on its way back into the digital domain, and that final stage leaves its own character on everything that passes through it.
Analog Alive was designed with that last layer in mind. Its saturation stage was developed through the study of nonlinear behavior in high-end conversion, without modelling any particular device. Even before SATURATION is driven, its signature already sits over the sound.
Movement, density, saturation and peak behavior are not separate effects. They resolve into one final analog character.
That is why it is called Final.

Seven controls. Nothing unnecessary.

- Input
- Level into the processor. Sets how hard the saturation stage is driven. ±12 dB.
- Speed
- How quickly the movement evolves. Stochastic at every setting.
- Depth
- How far the movement travels.
- Alive
- The main amount. At 0% the untreated signal passes through with the same latency.
- Coupling
- How closely left and right follow each other. The low end stays anchored.
- Saturation
- The level-dependent saturation stage — density and gently rounded peaks as the signal reaches it. 0–30%.
- Output
- Final level after all processing. Option/Alt-drag links it to INPUT.
Display
- Input meter
- Left and right input level, before processing, with held peaks.
- SAT
- How much the saturation stage is reshaping the waveform right now.
- Delta
- Hold the SAT readout to isolate the level-dependent change shown by the SAT meter. If the SAT meter isn’t showing activity, there is no Delta signal to hear.
- PK · CORR
- The peak level arriving at the saturation stage, and the correlation of the input.

Can I try it first?
Yes. The free demo is the same installer as the full version. The first time you open Analog Alive, start the 7-day trial: fully functional, once per computer, with an internet connection to start it. After that it keeps running in Demo Mode — the complete sound, with the output briefly muted about every half minute — until you activate a license key.
Where should I put it?
At the end of your analog-processing chain, after EQ, compression, saturation, tape or other character processing. On a mix bus or master, a natural starting point is as the final analog layer before limiting and delivery processing.
It is not limited to buses. Put it on a digital synth, sampler or any individual source that feels too static, and Analog Alive can give it subtle movement, density and channel-to-channel life.
Is Analog Alive a modulation plug-in?
No. Movement is where it began — stochastic and non-repeating rather than a chorus or LFO — but it also adds density and weight through its level-dependent saturation stage. ALIVE, SPEED, DEPTH and COUPLING shape the movement; INPUT and SATURATION shape the density and weight.
What does ALIVE 0% do?
The untreated signal passes through with the same latency, so you can compare without timing changes. INPUT and OUTPUT still apply.
Does it add latency?
A small, fixed amount, reported to the host: 61 samples at 44.1/48 kHz, 49 at 88.2/96 kHz, none at 176.4 kHz and above. Keep delay compensation on.
Which formats and systems?
macOS 11 or later, Apple Silicon and Intel: AU, VST3 and AAX. Windows 64-bit: VST3 and AAX, tested on Windows 11. AAX is for Avid Pro Tools and is installed only if you select it.
How do I move it to another computer?
In the plug-in, click TOKYO STUDIO CAPTURE and choose Deactivate this computer, then activate on the other one. Both steps need an internet connection.

I had the Apogee Symphony I/O in 2011 and this plugin reminds me of the “openness” of hearing the Apogee in reference to the other audio interface I had at the time.
That’s the 1st thing I thought of when I put it on my mix buss.

Some recordings can’t be replaced. We traveled several days with special invitation to record the mountain tribes of Guizhou and Yunnan. Having limited time and equipment I was never able to restore the natural swell and roar of the tribal singers to the splendor of the original performances until now. This tool really sounds wonderful on choral and orchestral pieces. Give it a serious try, it sounds even better after export.

i tried it out because it looked like an interesting plugin, and i think i have to buy it right away. it literally makes the sound feel alive!

Absolutely fantastic plugin. Brings out the final dimension in the mix, giving it a beautiful 3D sound that I have yet to replicate until I found this plugin. Excellent job.

This is that unit that you truly understand what it’s doing when you bypass it.
What you believe and dial in as subtle, really isn’t and is great to have at the end of your chain before any clipping/limiting.
Great buy and great work TSC.

It’s a subtle but very pleasant effect. Once it’s on a track it’s very hard to turn it off again. Doesn’t seem to add latency or be CPU intensive. It’s probably a plugin meant for the stereo-out, but try it everywhere!

Pretty amazing what this plugin does. Vibe, vibe, vibe!
