B-Box HG-2 Tube Saturation
Harmonic control. Tube color. Mix-ready depth.
The HG-2 is not just about warmth — it’s about shaping tone with intention.
By blending triode and pentode saturation, it allows you to dial in subtle enhancement or bold harmonic character, adding depth, presence, and cohesion to your mix.
What you actually get
A collection of tube saturation profiles captured across multiple harmonic settings.
Profiles included:
- B-Box – Subtle Tube Enhance
Light harmonic enhancement with transparent warmth. - B-Box – Mix Bus Gentle Glue
Soft saturation that gently glues the mix together. - B-Box – Triode Warmth
Rich, smooth saturation with rounded tone. - B-Box – Pentode Shine
Brighter harmonics with added presence and clarity. - B-Box – Balanced Saturation
A balanced blend of warmth and edge. - B-Box – Tube Drive Heavy
Strong saturation with bold harmonic character.
How it behaves
- Harmonics can be shaped from subtle to aggressive
- Low-end gains density without losing clarity
- Highs can be smoothed or enhanced depending on the mode
Audio Demo
Hear the before and after across a range of sources — vocals, drums, guitar, synth, and more.
Each example uses the same profile to show how it reacts to different material.
All examples are gain-matched for a fair and accurate comparison.
Focus on subtle changes in clarity, depth, and overall tonal balance rather than overall loudness.
Why this capture is different
- Multiple tube saturation styles captured
- Carefully controlled drive levels during profiling
- Designed for mix bus and creative saturation workflows
Waveform Comparison (Hardware vs NAM)
Below is a direct comparison between the original hardware signal and the NAM profile output.
This visualization highlights how accurately the harmonic shaping and response are preserved.
Technical notes
- Format: NAM (.nam)
- Sample Rate: 48kHz
- Capture Type: Real hardware
- Calibration: Studio-level gain staging
Gain Staging Advice
Our captures are pre-calibrated at -18 dBFS input level.
For best results, we recommend feeding the plugin with an input signal close to -18 dBFS.
Due to gain reduction during the profiling process, the output level of a loaded profile may be slightly lower than the original input signal.
Please adjust the Output control to match your source level or to reach your preferred listening volume.
When evaluating tones, keep in mind that louder signals can often be perceived as better simply due to increased loudness.
For the most accurate comparison, we strongly recommend proper gain matching. Developing this habit is essential for critical listening and consistent mixing decisions.

Eric T. (verified owner) –
Really solid saturation.
Easy to dial in, doesn’t get messy like some others. Been using it on drums and sometimes mix bus.
Adds a bit of weight without overdoing it. Just works.
