R-STA Level Tube Compressor
Thick compression. Vintage attitude. Musical control.
The STA Level is not about transparency — it’s about character.
Its tube-based design delivers rich saturation and bold compression, shaping dynamics with a distinctly vintage tone that adds weight, density, and presence.

NAM A2 Updated
All Tokyo Studio Capture profiles have been updated for the latest NAM A2 architecture.
NAM A2 represents the most significant advancement in Neural Amp Modeler to date, delivering substantially improved accuracy, efficiency, and hardware fidelity compared to previous generations.
According to large-scale blind listening tests, A2 consistently achieved results that are extremely difficult to distinguish from the original hardware.

How it behaves
- Compression adds harmonic richness and saturation
- Transients are shaped with a smooth but weighted response
- Dynamics become thicker and more forward
Audio Demo
Compare the original hardware signal and the NAM profile across a range of sources — bass, guitar, synth, and more.
Each example demonstrates how closely the profile captures the tone, dynamics, and harmonic response of the hardware.
The NAM and hardware samples are gain-matched to allow for a more accurate evaluation of the capture’s fidelity.
For additional context, a dry (unprocessed) version is also included.
Why this capture is different
- Multiple compression characters captured
- Carefully driven tube stages
- Designed for musical coloration and impact
Waveform Comparison (Hardware vs NAM)
Below is a direct comparison between the original hardware signal and the NAM profile output.
This visualization highlights how accurately the compression behavior and harmonic response are preserved.

Technical notes
- Format: NAM (.nam)
- Sample Rate: 48kHz
- Capture Type: Real hardware
- Calibration: Studio-level gain staging
Gain Staging Advice
Our captures are pre-calibrated at -18 dBFS input level.
For best results, we recommend feeding the plugin with an input signal close to -18 dBFS.
Due to gain reduction during the profiling process, the output level of a loaded profile may be slightly lower than the original input signal.
Please adjust the Output control to match your source level or to reach your preferred listening volume.

The way this handles transients is remarkably musical. It adds a certain ‘density’ to the mid-range without any of the usual muddiness you get with vintage-style emulations. On vocals, it pins the performance in place beautifully, and on bass, it provides a solid foundation that sits perfectly in the pocket. It has a lovely harmonic character that just makes everything sound more ‘finished’ as soon as you engage the circuit.
